Directions: opposition made “sous observation” and 53 dissous

While the transitional government has not yet announced the date of the elections, Guinean authorities have dissected dozens of political parties and placed two prominent opposition figures under observation Monday evening.

Since soldiers overthrew President Alpha Condé in 2021, this Western African nation has been governed by a military regime. The Western African regional alliance, known as CEDEAO, has pushed for a return to a civil government, and elections are scheduled for 2025.
